Sir Walter Scott’s Abbotsford is one of the most famous literary houses in the world. Maintaining, presenting and sharing this 5 star-rated tourist attraction is a major challenge for a small charity and volunteers are absolutely crucial to Abbotsford’s success. From welcoming visitors at the ticket desk to ensuring they have an enjoyable visit to the historic house or helping maintain the gardens , there are many varied roles. You could be driving our minibus or help to maintain our new paths network. For 2019, we are also looking to set up a team of outdoor estate volunteers. We are particularly keen to hear from people with time to spare at weekends.
We have roles to suit all ages and interests, so stop by on our open day to find out more!
This is a free event, starting at 10am and running until 1pm on the day; staff and volunteers will be on site to show around and answer your questions.
