13th Jul 2017
The talented group of actors return to Abbotsford for the third year.
This summer, they will present Shakespeare’s beloved and tragic tale of two young star-crossed lovers, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ on the 15th of July and on the 30th, his amusing comedy ‘Twelfth Night’ promises to capture audiences of all ages. With audiences enthralled by last year’s performance of ‘Macbeth’, this year promises to be even more of a good time.
Giles Ingram, Chief Executive of Abbotsford, comments:
“Both evenings promise to be hugely enjoyable. We look forward to welcoming back the talented group of actors as well as inviting the public to enjoy Abbotsford’s house and gardens as the perfect backdrop to Shakespeare’s works.”
“This year, we are thrilled to hold two performances. The sun will shine of course, but just in case it doesn’t we have Ochiltree’s café standing by as an indoor theatre and picnic area.”
All ticket holders are welcome to bring their own picnics on the night and explore the tranquil setting of the gardens before the performance. Refreshments and a cash bar will be available as well, so make sure you arrive early and enjoy Abbotsford's tranquil gardens for a picnic, ice cream or a drink. The gardens open from 5.30pm with performances starting at 7.00pm and ending at 9.30pm; there will also be a short interval half-way through the performance so you can catch up and have a snack or a beverage.
Tickets for adults will be £14, Friends of Abbotsford can pay £12.60, Concessions and Under 17s are £12 and we also have a Joint Ticket Offer Available. Save up to 20% on ticket prices if you book for both performances.
Tickets can be booked on our website, by phone on 01896 752043, or in person at the Abbotsford visitor centre. You may want to book early as spaces are limited.
