SHARING ABBOTSFORD MEMORIES
24th April 2020
We're looking forward to the day we can make memories at Abbotsford again, but what makes it a special place for you?

What do you love most about Abbotsford?
When we asked our volunteers this question, we received all kinds of lovely responses, which you can read on our social media over the coming weeks. First we're sharing a response from Ray, who volunteers with the garden team and takes lots of photos, such as the one above, while she works. She said:
"To me Abbotsford is a very special place. I feel privileged to be able to work in such a beautiful setting with a great bunch of friends. Being in amongst the plants gives you a different, and often very lovely, perspective!"
Let us share your thoughts too. Tell us what you love about Abbotsford by sending your memories and images to enquiries@scottsabbotsford.co.uk. Just let us know if you're happy for us to share your response on social media.
Scott: The Man Behind The Monument course success
Thanks to everyone who’s participated in our recent free Massive Online Open Course, Scott: The Man Behind the Monument!
The course was described as “Inspirational, educational and entertaining all in one” and "enlightening, stimulating, and interesting" by some of its 1028 learners from 92 countries so far!
If you hadn't got around to signing up yet, good news - the course will now be staying online until September 2020!
Spring Virtual Quiz raises over £200

A huge thank you to everyone who joined in with our first ever Virtual Quiz last week. We hope you enjoyed pitting your wits against our fiendishly good quiz masters, John and Nancy. You can now download the answers to the quiz from our website.
Your generous donations raised over £200 to help keep the magic of Abbotsford alive - thank you!
Missed out on last week's quiz? Don't worry, it's still available to download here (but no peeking at the answer sheet first...)
Join our mailing list to receive our newsletters direct to your inbox! Like and Follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to discover more about Abbotsford.
As an independent charity, we receive no core Government funding and rely on the financial support of our friends, neighbours and visitors to care for Abbotsford and safeguard Sir Walter Scott’s legacy. If you are able to consider a donation, any support that you are able to give will help us through this difficult time. Thank you.
