Remembering Dame Jean & Patricia Maxwell-Scott
5th August 2026
As we continue our Abb Fab: Women of Abbotsford series, we're preparing to celebrate the lives of Jean and Patricia – two sisters who left a lasting impression on our community.
Whether you knew them as friends, neighbours, colleagues, or simply crossed paths over the years, we'd love to hear your memories. From funny anecdotes and treasured moments to photographs or stories that capture who they were, every contribution helps us paint a richer picture of their lives and preserve their legacy for future generations.
Your memories could help bring their story to life as part of the Abb Fab series, ensuring their impact on our community is remembered and celebrated.
For decades, Mrs Patricia and Dame Jean Maxwell-Scott were the heart of Abbotsford. As custodians of Sir Walter Scott's home, they welcomed visitors from around the world with warmth and enthusiasm, dedicating much of their lives to preserving its history and sharing it with others.
Their passion for Abbotsford, together with the kindness they showed to everyone they met, means they are still remembered with great affection by many today.

Have a story to share?
We'd love to hear your memories of Jean and Patricia.
Whether it's a cherished photograph, a funny anecdote, or a special moment you'd like to share, every contribution helps us celebrate their lives and the difference they made to our community.
