Have A Heart For Abbotsford And Support Lifesaving Campaign
18th September 2020
Abbotsford has been awarded the British Heart Foundation’s Nation of Lifesavers Community Package, which includes a defibrillator and a training kit. We now need to raise £1,000 to access this package, as well as to buy and install a suitable cabinet to keep the defibrillator ready for use in a public area at Abbotsford.

The challenge to raise £1,000 before the end of October is being spearheaded by members of the Friends of Abbotsford Committee. They've kicked things off online with a prize quiz, available to download until 30th September 2020. Quiz entrants will be entered into a prize draw to win a Friends of Abbotsford Membership.
Katy Jackson, Abbotsford's Development Manager, said: "By having a defibrillator at Abbotsford, we hope we can play an important part in saving more lives. We were delighted to get the award from the British Heart Foundation and our Friends Committee have taken on the challenge of raising the £1000 needed.
"We only have a few weeks before the deadline, so we are hoping the local community, especially those who use Abbotsford for walks and recreation, will support us with donations. They can also take part in our quiz, which will appeal to those who walk their dogs at Abbotsford as the theme is all about our four-legged friends."
You can donate towards the defibrillator by text or online:

For every minute someone is in cardiac arrest without CPR and access to a defibrillator, their chances of survival drops by up to 10%. Having a public access defibrillator available in an emergency can be life-saving.
* Fundraising, payments and donations will be processed and administered by the National Funding Scheme (Charity No: 1149800), operating as DONATE. Texts will be charged at your standard network rate. For Terms & Conditions, see www.easydonate.org
