ABBOTSFORD STILL OPEN FOR VISITORS

17th March 2020

The Abbotsford estate, including the historic house, chapel & gardens, is still open to visitors.

In light of government guidance we have taken steps to mitigate against Covid-19 and would encourage our visitors to follow the personal hygiene and wellbeing advice that has been issued.

All visitors are being encouraged to follow the government’s guidelines on personal hygiene and wash their hands on arrival at the Visitor Centre.

In the historic house, the audio guides are being cleansed after every use, and visitors are being invited to use their own headsets/ear plugs for additional personal hygiene.

Paper transcripts, the alternative to the audio guide, are being removed after each use and not returned to the shelf for a week.

Hand gel and tissues are available in the entrance hall to the historic house, and the entrance door is being cleaned frequently with anti-bacterial cleanser.

In the Visitor Centre, regularly touched hard surfaces, such as doors, are being cleaned and the card machine is also being wiped with anti-bacterial cleanser after use.

Visits to the house will also be staggered as necessary, so that members of the public can keep a safe distance from each other and from our staff and volunteers.
