Abbotsford nominated for Thistle Award

16th Oct 2017

Abbotsford are proud to announce their nomination in the Lothian and Borders Regional Finals of the Scottish Thistle Awards 2017/2018 for Best Visitor Attraction.

The shortlist for the regional finals of the 2017/2018 Scottish Thistle Awards, in association with Fishers, was announced at the end of September, and the Abbotsford Trust is proud to be one of 15 outstanding businesses from the Scottish Borders, among them attractions and hospitality businesses competing for the coveted regional accolades.

Every year, the Scottish Thistle Awards recognise tourism businesses which demonstrate exemplary levels of customer service, customer satisfaction and a business commitment to hospitality. Led by a panel of industry experts from several organisations including VisitScotland, Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards, Highlands & Islands Tourism Awards, the Hospitality Industry Trust Scotland, Scotland Food and Drink, Scottish Tourism Alliance, the Scottish Licensed Trade Association, SportScotland and Wild Scotland, the awards are recognised as Scotland's tourism industry's Oscars.

Now in its 25th year, the awards saw a record-breaking 734 entries submitted, including hundreds of nominations from members of the public keen to recognise hotels, restaurants, B&Bs, visitor attractions and individuals who go the extra mile to provide customers with exceptional service.

For Abbotsford, the nomination for a Scottish Thistle Award is a chance to credit both staff and volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure that all visitors, whether from Scotland or further afield, enjoy a truly memorable experience.
