Walter’s World: Exhibition Exploration
Who was Sir Walter Scott, what did he do, and why is his name known all over the world? Explore the objects, stories and treasures on display in our Visitor Centre exhibition to discover the life and work of one of Scotland’s greatest figures. Pupils use fun treasure hunt clues and group discussions to bring Scott’s story to life. This session works well as an introduction to Scott before a visit to the historic house or Witch Corner.
Please note that this self-led session must be booked in advance. Teacher supervision is required in the exhibition at all times.
Witch Corner
School groups are very welcome to visit our Witch Corner sculpture trail set in a beautiful wildwood glen. The trail is inspired by Sir Walter’s fascination for folklore, superstition, and witchcraft. Pupils can follow the 12 story stops with a full-colour activity book and pencil to take away.
