PLAN A SCHOOL VISIT
Book one of our curriculum-linked activities or plan your own self-led visit to Abbotsford!
As well as our pre-booked, curiculum based activities, school groups are also welcome to visit Abbotsford independently and make use of a range of facilities.
What’s on offer
Our 110 acre estate is free to access and open all year round, every day – download a map of our estate paths and printable activity trails and go on your very own adventure under the leaves!
Our Visitor Centre features a free exhibition about Sir Walter Scott and Abbotsford (please check our opening times). A self-led trail is available in the exhibition suitable for learners from P4 upwards. Please contact us if you would like to visit the exhibition with a large group (over 10 pupils) and we will be happy to book a slot for you.
School groups are very welcome to visit our Witch Corner sculpture trail set in a beautiful wildwood glen. The trail is inspired by Sir Walter’s fascination for folklore, superstition, and witchcraft. Pupils can follow the 12 story stops with a full-colour activity book and pencil to take away.
