The Abbotsford Trust is looking to recruit a driven and talented person to develop our events business.

This role would suit applicants who live in Edinburgh or the surrounding area as accommodation on property will be provided on event days. Alternatively, relocation is also an option.

Abbotsford, the Home of Sir Walter Scott in the Scottish Borders, is one of Scotland’s most important heritage sites. Following completion of a multi-million £ redevelopment, and now with easy access from Edinburgh along the new Borders Railway, we are focussing on developing our trading performance.

We wish to appoint a driven and talented individual to develop our weddings, meetings, private and public events business. You will have knowledge of and expertise in wedding and/or commercial event organisation, sales and meeting revenue targets, as well as excellent face to face interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

During the first 18 months you will have the support of an industry expert, who will assist you in repositioning the events business and setting up new systems and processes.

This full time post carryies a salary of £20,336 per annum, plus an option to occupy a flat rent free. It is a superb opportunity for an individual wishing to develop their career in a prestigious venue with scope to make a significant difference.
